JOB TITLE: Rolling Stock Mechanic - Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Mechanic Shop Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: The Rolling Stock Mechanic is responsible for the duties related to diagnosing, fixing and keeping all company vehicles in proper working & serviced condition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attend the daily stretch and bend meeting with the entire shift.
2. Assure that all company Safety Program Policies are being followed at all times.
3. Keep all company rolling stock repaired and road worthy.
4. Make sure all trucks/trailers annual inspections are up to date.
5. Help out with other jobs in shop when fellow employees need help.
6. Keep all company rolling stock services and preventive maintenance up to date.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned.
8. Keep a clean and organized work area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Self-motivated person that does not need a lot of supervision
- Mechanical repair experience
- Good people skills
- Dependable and team oriented
- Able to learn new skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 - 3 years in Mechanical Service Repair
- A Forklift and/or truck repair certification
