You will be the Optical Inspector for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for producing some of the world's most advanced weapon and sensor technology, utilizing the latest capabilities in manufacturing, including ultra-precision machining and additive manufacturing.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Optical Inspector, you will be responsible for performing a variety of inspection operations during the fabrication of optical elements and assemblies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting in-coming raw glass and optical elements for dimensions, clear aperture, and other specifications
- Inspecting optical/mechanical sub-assemblies and assemblies for proper fit, bonding, and surface quality
- Using equipment such as interferometers, micrometers, and optical comparators to perform measurements and tests
- Documenting non-conforming hardware and preparing paperwork and records

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
This position will likely be for 1st shift but could change to 2nd or D shift (Fri-Sun 12 hours shifts).
Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift according to the guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and UAW.
