The Lead Rail Bike Guide / Supervisor is a seasonal leadership position responsible for overseeing daily rail bike operations from April through December. This hands-on
role provides direct supervision and support to Rail Bike Guides while ensuring the highest levels of safety, guest service, and operational excellence.
As a working supervisor, the Lead Rail Bike Guide / Supervisor serves as a role model, problem solver, and safety leader for the operation. This position conducts daily safety
meetings, oversees staff performance, performs rail bike maintenance, and helps ensure a safe and memorable guest experience.
In addition to rail bike responsibilities, the Lead Rail Bike Guide / Supervisor is expected to assist with train operations and other railroad-related duties during periods when rail bike tours are not running. Two Lead Supervisors will share responsibility for providing leadership coverage for a seven-day-per-week operation.
Schedule Requirements Seasonal position operating from April through December.
Starting pay: $22.00 per hour.
Weekend availability is required and is a condition of employment.
Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and peak tourism periods.
Flexible schedule required to support a seven-day-per-week operation.
Ability to work opening, closing, and extended shifts as operational needs dictate.
Two Lead Rail Bike Guide / Supervisors will provide leadership coverage for daily operations throughout the operating season.

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on rail bikes and equipment.
Support train operations when rail bike tours are not operating.

Promote a positive work environment and uphold all company and safety standards.
Prior Experience/Skills Needed:
Must have good verbal communication skills and be able to give direction to staff.
Must be able to operate a cash register, give correct change and operate our ticket computer
system.
Must be very organized and details oriented. Knowledge of railroad terms, operations, and standards are necessary. Prior experience in staff management is
required.
Overall Job Responsibilities:
Employee staffing and weekly work scheduling
Lift rail bikes when required, to change direction or storage
Check crossings weekly
Transport money, paper products, merchandise
Maintain constant communication with employees via radio or cell phone
Make and execute decisions regarding daily operation of the business (perform safety checks)
Assign work details
Keep operation location clean and neat
Oversee the compliance of safety standards for the operation
Solve employee and customer problems
Make up daily cash drawers if needed
Answer phone and take reservations
Oversee gift display.
Help out where needed and when needed
Make necessary repairs on bikes
All other duties as assigned
