The Welcome Project seeks community-based ESOL tutors to support multilingual students in their linguistic goals. As a one-on-one tutor, you will work individually with your assigned student to support their specific educational needs. Every partnership is unique. Some students are looking to develop or improve certain skills, such as writing or conversation, while others may need support with specific projects, such as filling out job applications or pre-literate reading support.
Most tutoring occurs for 1 to 2 hours once a week for at least a 4 month period. Volunteer tutors and their students are welcome to meet at The Welcome Project, online, or at a free public space (such as the public library or a city park).
