Lead the Next Phase of Growth in Precision Metal Fabrication
Innovative Metal Products is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead our day-to-day manufacturing operations while helping drive the next phase of our company's growth. We are a modern precision metal fabrication company with significant unused production capacity and an ambitious growth strategy.
Our facility currently operates on a single shift, but we are actively positioning the company for expansion into second and third shift operations as sales continue to grow. Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations, including scheduling, production, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Develop the operational systems, staffing, and processes necessary to support future expansion into second and third shift production.
- Recruit, train, and develop production employees and supervisors as the company grows.
- Supervise and support both production and office personnel.
- Manage workflow through flat sheet and tube laser cutting, CNC forming, welding, powder coating, assembly, and shipping.
- Coordinate production schedules to maximize efficiency and equipment utilization.
- Ensure quality standards and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Monitor inventory, purchasing, and material flow.
- Work closely with engineering, estimating, sales, and customer service to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve profitability.
- Track production metrics and provide operational reporting to ownership.
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and strategic planning.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing management experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Flat sheet and tube laser cutting
- CNC press brake operations
- MIG/TIG welding
- Powder coating
- General metal fabrication
- Experience managing production schedules and manufacturing personnel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing software preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to balance production priorities while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amada flat sheet and tube laser and press brake equipment.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Knowledge of quoting, estimating, and job costing.
- Experience working with ISO or documented quality systems.
- Familiarity with government or defense manufacturing is a plus.
