Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our supply chain operations team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing end-to-end logistics processes, optimizing warehouse distribution, and ensuring seamless transportation management. Responsibilities
- Coordinate warehouse distribution activities, including inventory control, stocking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Manage procurement processes by sourcing vendors, negotiating pricing, and overseeing supplier management to secure cost-effective materials and services.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP or AS400 to plan, execute, and monitor freight movements and international trade compliance.
- Conduct data analysis using SQL, Excel data analysis tools, and spreadsheets to identify trends, optimize demand planning, and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Oversee warehouse management systems (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory levels, perform root cause analysis on discrepancies, and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on category management strategies, production planning, and trade compliance initiatives to streamline operations.
- Lead efforts in freight management, including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), shipping logistics, and vendor/vendor management to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in data collection, analysis skills, and Excel data analysis for supply chain analytics.
- Experience with warehouse experience including inventory management systems, warehouse operations, manual handling, and stocking procedures.
- Knowledge of procurement practices such as sourcing, pricing negotiations, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with transportation planning tools like transportation management systems (TMS), NVOCC operations, freight forwarding, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Ability to utilize ERP systems such as SAP or AS400 for inventory control and supply chain management tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments like customer service, production planning, and logistics management.
- Practicing in a supply chain operations role with experience in category management, process improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and demand planning.
