Position Summary
Bay Area Neuromuscular Therapy is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient care in a hands-on rehabilitation and wellness environment. The ideal candidate will assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, help patients improve mobility and function, and contribute to a high-quality patient experience.
This role is well suited for someone who is professional, dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a private-practice setting that emphasizes recovery, mobility, pain reduction, and long-term functional improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the supervising Physical Therapist with implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, stretching, manual therapy support, and functional rehabilitation as directed.
Monitor patient progress during treatment sessions and report changes, concerns, or improvements to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Educate patients on proper exercise technique, home exercise programs, posture, movement, and recovery practices within the scope of care.
Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies before and after patient sessions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatment, progress, and response to care.
Help ensure a clean, safe, organized, and professional clinical environment.
Communicate professionally with patients, families, staff, and providers.
Support patient retention through excellent care, encouragement, and clear communication.
Follow all applicable clinical, privacy, safety, and professional standards.
Qualifications
Current Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida.
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
CPR/BLS certification preferred or required upon hire.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while following the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Professional, reliable, and patient-centered attitude.
Experience in outpatient therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, sports recovery, mobility care, or pain management is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills
Experience with therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, mobility training, balance work, and functional rehabilitation.
Comfort working with patients experiencing pain, limited mobility, postural issues, soft tissue dysfunction, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
Ability to help create a positive, encouraging, and professional patient experience.
Pay: $21.00 - $41.70 per hour
