We are seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our growing criminal defense practice. We welcome applications from newly licensed attorneys, recent graduates awaiting Pennsylvania Bar results, and experienced litigators. This role offers meaningful, hands-on experience across all stages of criminal litigation, from preliminary arraignment through disposition, trial and appeals.
Whether you are beginning your legal career, or bringing years of courtroom experience, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Junior level attorneys will receive mentorship while managing entry level tasks and gaining real courtroom exposure. Experienced attorneys will manage their own caseloads with significant autonomy while collaborating on litigation strategy and complex matters. This role is ideal for attorneys looking for a collaborative and supportive small-firm environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Represent clients in court, motions, trial, and post-trial proceedings
- Attend litigation events including trials, hearings and arraignments
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and pleadings
- Perform client intakes and maintain consistent communication, including prison visits
- Contribute to litigation strategy and participate in quality-review processes
- Promote a trial‑ready culture through focused discovery and issue‑driven preparation
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar
- Applicants sitting for the July 2026 bar exam are also encouraged to apply
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in criminal law or litigation
- Exposure to court proceedings, motion practice, or trial work (through internships, clinics, or prior roles)
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients in sensitive situations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence in courtroom settings and willingness to develop advocacy skills
- High ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity
- Ability to handle the demands and emotional intensity of criminal defense work
