Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Accounting will play a critical role in ensuring the financial strength, compliance, and operational effectiveness of one of Oklahoma's most respected nonprofit organizations. You'll help drive financial strategy, oversee complex accounting operations, strengthen internal controls, and provide leadership on financial reporting that supports programs serving individuals, families, veterans, and communities across the state.

What You'll Do
As the Director of Accounting, you will serve as a key partner to the CEO and leadership team by:
- Leading day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
- Ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Overseeing preparation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.
- Supporting organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
- Managing compliance with federal, state, grant, nonprofit, and regulatory requirements.
- Partnering with auditors and coordinating annual financial audits.
- Enhancing systems, processes, and internal controls to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Collaborating with leaders across the organization to provide financial insight that supports sound decision-making.
- Helping maximize revenue opportunities while maintaining strong fiscal stewardship of organizational resources.
- Supporting the organization's long-term financial health and strategic growth initiatives.
What Makes You Successful
We're looking for a leader who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative approach.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience in roles such as Director of Accounting, Assistant Controller, Controller, Comptroller, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.
- Experience implementing or optimizing accounting software and financial processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with executives and department leaders.
