About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, highly skilled Maintenance Lead to act as our facility's hands-on
maintenance leader capable of translating macro-level operational goals into micro-level
wrench-turning. The ideal candidate will take accountability of all facility machinery by driving
essential system corrections and actively training the current maintenance staff to elevate the
department's baseline technical aptitude.
Required Technical Skills
- Industrial Motors: Strong working knowledge of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and
replacing industrial motors, specifically including 480V 3-phase motors operating in
high-heat and high-dust environments.
- Pump Systems: Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild heavy-duty pumps
- Conveyance Systems: Deep understanding of industrial conveyance systems, including
replacing rollers, aligning/replacing heavy belts, tracking material feeds, and maintaining
automated material hoppers.
- Electrical Control Panels & Components: Ability to safely navigate, inspect, and
troubleshoot electrical control panels, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and PLCs.
- Sensors & HMI Systems: Strong understanding of industrial sensor systems (such as
limit switches, proximity sensors, and safety light curtains) and Human-Machine
Interfaces (HMIs).
Core Responsibilities
- Active Floor Presence: Maintains a highly visible, hands-on presence on the production
floor alongside technicians.
- Proactive Monitoring: Actively patrols machine centers to identify premature wear and
provides immediate, on-the-spot technical leadership during equipment breakdowns
rather than managing from a desk or maintenance cage.
- Breakdown Management: Remains calm in the chaos during machine downtime,
methodically assessing the situation rather than adding to a reactive "firefighting"
environment.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Acts as the facility's technical expert, showing an inherent
understanding of industrial equipment and diagnosing root causes rather than just
blindly swapping parts. System Health & Uptime: Takes full responsibility for keeping machinery running,
managing breakdown situations methodically, and executing or coordinating all
mechanical repairs to safely return equipment to service.
- Spare Parts Management: Identifies critical machinery wear components and sources
standard, off-the-shelf replacements (like local bearings, belts, and hardware) to offset
the long lead times of proprietary OEM parts.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) Execution: Ensures the maintenance staff correctly
executes scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly PM audits. Gives input in generation and
ultimately controls systematic and preventive programs.
- Facility Safety Audits: Ensures and fixes the premises, offices, grounds, etc. so that they
are maintained in a safe condition.
- Safety Leadership: Leads by example, naturally respecting safety protocols without
being forced, actively enforcing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensuring
mandatory PPE is utilized during all repairs.
- Mentorship & Direct Oversight: Trains and directs the boots-on-the-ground
Maintenance Technicians who are responsible for utilizing proper hand tools and
mandatory PPE to execute repairs across the plant.
Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
