Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Mechanic / Pipefitter to oversee installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of piping systems and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, extensive hands-on experience, and the ability to direct crews while ensuring quality workmanship and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise pipefitting and mechanical crews on job sites
- Install, repair, and maintain piping systems including industrial, commercial, and mechanical systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Coordinate workflow, materials, and equipment needs
- Troubleshoot mechanical and piping issues efficiently
- Ensure work meets company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance
- Train and mentor team members
- Maintain accurate job documentation and reports
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and customers
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of pipefitting/mechanical experience
- Previous leadership or foreman experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and hand/power tools
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- OSHA certification or additional trade certifications preferred
