Under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse (nurse), the Health Unit Coordinator II (HUC) performs a variety of secretarial/clerical duties. The HUC adheres to a culture reflective of Centra's best practices for quality and service, creates and maintains a safe patient environment, and contributes to a healthy work environment. May handle medication that is delivered by the Pharmacy either directly or via the pneumatic tube system and to transport the medication to an appropriate storage area or to another employee who is qualified to administer medication.
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED. Anyone hired prior to September 1, 2011, is grandfathered
Required Certifications and Licensures: Certified by National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC)
