Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning techniques and sanitizing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, ensuring all areas meet sanitation standards and health regulations.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and ensuring dining areas remain tidy throughout service hours.
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow all food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots, trays, or boxes while maintaining safe lifting techniques to prevent injury.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique.
- Basic understanding of kitchen health and safety standards; willingness to adhere strictly to safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
