PRISA Hospitality is seeking a dynamic, hands-on, detail-oriented hospitality leader to support the opening and ongoing operations of the dual-branded Hampton by Hilton San Juan and Homewood Suites by Hilton San Juan. The Housekeeping Manager partners with the Operations Manager to oversee Guest Rooms, Public Areas, Laundry, and Housekeeping Associates, ensuring the hotel consistently delivers exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and service standards while maintaining Hilton brand compliance.
As a key member of the hotel's leadership team, the Housekeeping Manager fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence while supporting the successful pre-opening and ongoing operation of the hotel.
Principal Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations Leadership
- Lead the daily operations of Guest Rooms, Public Areas, Laundry, and Housekeeping Associates while ensuring compliance with Hilton brand standards.
- Partner with the Operations Manager to achieve operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and ownership objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Establish departmental procedures, inspection programs, and quality assurance processes that support long-term operational excellence.
Guest Room Operations
- Oversee daily room assignments, inspections, productivity, and quality standards for Room Attendants.
- Ensure guestrooms are cleaned, inspected, and available according to Hilton standards and occupancy requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office and Engineering to maximize room readiness and minimize out-of-order rooms.
- Ensure VIP arrivals, Hilton Honors recognition, and special requests are completed accurately and on time.
- Utilize labor management tools and productivity reports to optimize staffing levels while maintaining Hilton quality and service standards.
Public Area Operations
- Ensure all public areas, meeting space, lobby, fitness center, corridors, employee areas, restrooms, and exterior entrances consistently meet Hilton cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Develop cleaning schedules and monitor Public Area Attendants to maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
- Coordinate deep-cleaning projects and preventative cleaning programs.
Laundry & Linen Operations
- Oversee all laundry operations, including guest room linen, terry, uniforms, and housekeeping supplies.
- Maintain appropriate PAR levels while managing inventories and minimizing linen loss.
- Monitor laundry productivity, chemical usage, quality standards, and equipment performance.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance of laundry equipment with Engineering.
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining outstanding cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel.
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, and service recovery opportunities related to housekeeping.
- Prepare the department for Hilton Quality Assurance reviews, brand audits, and ownership inspections.
- Partner with Front Office and Engineering to resolve guest room deficiencies promptly while ensuring compliance with Hilton housekeeping standards.
Financial Performance
- Manage departmental labor productivity, scheduling, overtime, and payroll.
- Control departmental expenses, inventories, chemical usage, linen replacement, and operating supplies.
- Monitor productivity standards and staffing levels based on occupancy.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining Hilton quality standards.
Interdepartmental Coordination
- Partner closely with Front Office and Engineering to maximize room readiness and guest satisfaction.
- Support Sales, Catering, and other departments by ensuring guestrooms, meeting space, and public areas are operationally ready for groups, events, and VIP arrivals.
- Promote effective communication across all hotel departments to ensure seamless daily operations.
Safety, Sanitation & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Hilton housekeeping standards, OSHA requirements, local health regulations, and hotel safety procedures.
- Maintain proper chemical handling, storage, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and promptly report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
Talent Management & Culture
- Recruit, train, coach, develop, and evaluate housekeeping supervisors and associates.
- Partner with Human Resources on onboarding, performance management, associate engagement, recognition, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous learning, and service excellence through regular communication and training.
Pre-Opening Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training all housekeeping associates.
- Develop departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational workflows.
- Coordinate opening inventories for linen, uniforms, guest room supplies, equipment, and chemicals.
- Participate in model room reviews, mock inspections, operational testing, and opening readiness activities.
- Support hotel opening activities to ensure all guestrooms, public areas, and housekeeping operations are fully prepared for opening day.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PRISA leadership, ownership, and cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives and support strategic initiatives.
- Support the successful pre-opening and ongoing operation of the dual-branded hotel.
- Champion continuous improvement of housekeeping systems, quality standards, and operational processes.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager or General Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience within a branded hotel environment.
- Previous experience as Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, or similar leadership role.
- Strong operational knowledge of housekeeping, laundry, public areas, inventory management, labor management, and hotel operations.
- Hilton brand experience preferred; familiarity with Hilton operating systems is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
