Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director to oversee operations within a specialized OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities) group home. This vital role involves leading a dedicated team to provide exceptional care and support to residents with developmental disabilities. The Assistant Directorwill ensure the delivery of person-centered services, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and foster a safe, nurturing environment where residents can thrive. Hours: 1pm-9pm and on call every other weekend.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily operations of the group home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
- Supervise staff including direct care workers, nurses, and support personnel, fostering a positive team environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with safety protocols and state regulations
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Extensive background working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong leadership skills with prior supervisory or management experience in a healthcare or community care environment
- Knowledge of care planning processes, medication management, and compliance regulations specific to OPWDD standards
- Demonstrated ability to handle operational responsibilities including budgeting, staff scheduling, and resource management
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with residents’ families, staff team members, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies
- Compassionate approach combined with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Minimum of 3 years of management/supervisory experience preferred.
- General knowledge of theories and principles of behavioral analysis, assessments and goal development preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in written, verbal and computational skills to document records in accordance with program and OPWDD mandates.
- Successful completion of criminal background history and fingerprint examination.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
