Position Title: Recreation Attendant
Department: Operations - Recreation
Reports to: Recreations Manager
FLSA Status: Part-Time; Non-Exempt
Starting Pay: $14.76 Hr.
Applicable qualifications and previous work experience will be given special consideration when establishing pay.
Summary: Under the direction of the Recreation Specialist, this position assists with the daily operations of the Recreation Complex, including the pool facility – including assisting customers with memberships, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service to District residents and guests.
Essential Job Functions (Illustrative Only):
- Assists with the daily operations of the Recreation Complex and other facilities.
- Greets residents and visiting guests and answers questions regarding to memberships and recreational offerings.
- Processes membership and day-pass payments.
- Conducts pool water testing daily. Enforces the policies and procedures for residents’ guests visiting the Recreation Complex and other recreational facilities.
- Helps to maintain a clean and orderly workspace and assists with custodial duties as necessary.
- Report any unauthorized behavior to Supervisor
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Knowledge of:
- Basic principles of cash/money collection and batch reconciliation
- Public service and ability to work well with customers.
- Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
- Considerable knowledge of computers and navigating specialty software programs.
- Correct application and use of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Education/Certification/License:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, have a satisfactory driving record, and insurable by the District to operate District vehicles or have consistent, reliable transportation to report for shifts.
Schedule: This schedule is subject to change as required to meet the needs of the Department. This position must be willing to alternate schedules and work weekends/holidays/evenings, as required.
