Job Title: STEAM Center Art Educator
FLSA: Non-exempt
Status: Full-time or Part-time
Reports to: STEAM Manager
Job Purpose: To serve as a creative and innovative art educator with an ongoing commitment to high-quality Museum experiences both internally and in the community.
Time Allocation: Weekdays and weekends are required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a team of educators to create an environment conducive to creative learning and appropriate for preschool, elementary and middle school age children;
- Facilitate visitor experiences in creating makers, art and design projects using a variety of methods and media;
- Assist visitors of all ages in using supplies, tools, exhibit software and experiences;
- Develop and maintain knowledge and experience regarding tools, equipment and materials;
- Ensure all Museum programs are high-quality and represent our educational philosophy and innovative position;
- Supervise workshops, programs and summer camps;
- Supervise part-time employees and volunteers assisting in the STEAM Center;
- Ensure that spaces are clean, restocked, kept and well-maintained;
- Participate in trainings as required by the organization;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, master’s degree preferred
- Have at least one year of postgraduate experience working with children, preferably in art education or makerspace environment
- Demonstrated experience in organization and time management
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of groups and organizations
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a leader who can delegate and meet deadlines
- Effective planning and project management skills
