The Communications Specialist (CS) performs a critical function within the organization. The CS is responsible for answering incoming calls to the organization and then delegating them to the appropriate contact. When receiving a call for service, the CS is to showcase competence and professionalism, ensuring they obtain the necessary information to successfully dispatch the appropriate resource(s) for the request.
In addition, the CS is responsible for ensuring that the on time performance (OTP) standards of the organization are consistently met. This is accomplished via pre-planning call assignments, understanding times of open availability, and successfully delegating requests to the closest and most appropriate unit.
Administrative functions may become part of the overall responsibilities of the CS, but will be largely dependent upon the volume of work/calls during each assigned shift.
Other duties may be assigned as requested by superior(s) and as organizational needs change.
