Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections to ensure that commercial vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards. This includes checking brakes, lights, tires, and other essential components
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in commercial vehicles. This can involve engine repairs, transmission work, and addressing electrical or hydraulic problems
- Work on brake systems, steering, and suspension components to ensure the vehicle's safe operation
- Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
- Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and address engine-related issue.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including lights, wiring, and electronic components
- Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for work performed
- Regularly scheduled maintenance, such as oil changes and filter replacements, to keep vehicles in good working condition
- Complies with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines
- Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas
- Performs other duties as required

Job Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of practical tractor trailer mechanical experience.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, safety regulations, and the ability to work with specialized tools and equipment
- Familiar with engine components and systems and know how they interact with each other. Ability to disassemble major parts for repairs, and be able to put them back together properly.
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Knowledge of tractor trucks and trailers
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, software and tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Valid Driver’s License required
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in shop environment
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering shop floor equipment to access, inspect, or oversee shop work
- Requires occasional travel outside service area
- Occasionally requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, gloves, etc.)
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals
Wage Range: 25.00 - 30.00 per mile
