Summary of Job
To remove the product from the conveyor, inspect to customer specifications and hand pack into prescribed carton
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The packer must know how to make boxes
The packer must inspect the cans or boxes prior to packing, check if the label is placed correctly, and see if the label and carton match (when applicable)
The packer must add plastic lids to the plastic lid application (when applicable)
The packer must tape and palletize the finished product
The packer must add metal ends to the can seamer if necessary (when applicable)
The packer must also know how to operate and can depalletize if necessary (when applicable)
The packer must also add stickers to the cases as an order production order requires. (When applicable)
The packer must perform any activity required by the operator, production lead, or the production supervisor
Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the product
Complies and enforces food quality and food safety.
Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Education and Qualifications
Basic math, reading skills, good communication skills, written and oral.
Must be able to work rotating shifts
Must be able willing to work with very little notice upon business needs.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Self-learner and ability to multi-task
Basic computer knowledge
Must be able to cross-train in other positions including departments.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance
Must be able to stand, walk, and work in an environment where stooping, twisting, and bending are frequent up to 10 hrs.
