Tomorrows Future Home is a Residential Treatment Center/GRO that exclusively provides treatment services for children with emotional disorders, aged 5-17. Our center services a 14 female residents and is located in HOUSTON TX. The facility is newly renovated and features two new offices with a therapy room. An Executive Director will also be employed by the facility and will provide immense daily support to the Licensed child care administrator and to the facility.
DIRECT CARE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal
Hygiene
● Provide supervision and guidance for residents during skills building activities
● Help develop and implement individual treatment plans for residents
● An employee’s behavior or health status must not present a danger to children in care.
● Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and
have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks
● Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
● Update resident case notes on a daily basis
● Ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all times Oversee children assigned
including
creative play, homework, lots of outside play, attending church with children and other
community activities and events
● Transport children to visits and planned activities.
● Maintain daily and weekly notes all by with other required documentation
● Organization, Cooking and Cleaning as needed
Education & Experience Requirements
● High school diploma/GED (unless still in school- we hire 16+)
● Some experience providing direct care to patients with intellectual and developmental
disabilities
● Valid driver's license
● Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
● Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
●*** Previous experience preferred *****(not required) working with individuals under 21 with
psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress
disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism
spectrum disorders.
Required Skills:
● Must pass a background check
● Must complete a child neglect and abuse training
● Must have a record of tuberculosis negative screening free of TB
