Project estimators are involved in all stages of our jobs – from initial bid or customer contact, development of conceptual design, handoff to engineering, and maintenance of customer relationships after project completion.
Role and Responsibilities
- Interpret bid specifications and drawings to develop material take offs.
- Generate cost estimates for bidding projects.
- Attend walk through meetings at job sites to obtain familiarity with upcoming projects.
- Obtain material pricing from vendors.
- Interpret technical requirements for instrumentation and electronics and develop bills of material for doing the project.
- Prepare change order estimates for ongoing work.
- Respond to inquiries received from our website form for solicitation of new work.
- Maintain a quote log with respect to upcoming bid dates, ensure bids go out on time.
Qualifications and Skills
- No prior industry experience required — we provide full training and mentorship from our senior team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required for this position.
- A strong work ethic and eagerness to learn are essential.
- Proficiency with Excel and Word.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are required for this position.
- A B.S. degree or coursework in Engineering, Construction, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
