Overview
Join our dynamic mental health team as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health services to children and adolescents between the ages of 5–18, specifically those returning from or at risk of out-of-home placement due to severe behavioral challenges.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral therapy within a supportive environment that values professional growth and client-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized child & youth therapy, family counseling, grief counseling, and addiction counseling to support clients across the lifespan.
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards, including medical records and progress notes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor client progress.
- Utilize systems for patient care documentation, medical terminology entry, and data collection for clinical research purposes.
Requirements
- Earns a master's or doctoral degree in counseling or a closely related field.
- Completes 2,000 to 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience post-graduation.
- Passes a national licensing exam, such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE).
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with active certification to practice independently.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with developmental disabilities; pediatric or inpatient experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention, crisis management, and trauma-informed care approaches.
- Competency in utilizing systems for patient records management and clinical data collection.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration; experience delivering telehealth therapy is a plus.
