General Manager
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of club operations while fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and member-focused environment. This role is dedicated to delivering an exceptional member experience through outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and team development. The General Manager will drive business performance by achieving financial objectives, leading and motivating team members, and ensuring the facility consistently reflects the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
As the club's leader, the General Manager will champion company values, uphold brand standards, and cultivate a positive workplace culture where team members are empowered to succeed and members receive a best-in-class fitness experience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Communicate, implement, and enforce organizational policies and operational standards.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to make timely, effective decisions.
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and develop top talent to support organizational growth and success.
- Lead by example, promoting professionalism, integrity, and exceptional service.
Sales & Business Development
- Inspire, coach, and manage a results-driven sales team.
- Drive membership growth and achieve revenue goals through effective leadership and performance management.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure club success.
- Execute company marketing initiatives and local outreach efforts to generate qualified leads.
- Ensure accurate lead management and follow-up processes are consistently maintained.
- Build relationships within the local community and establish strategic partnerships with area businesses and organizations.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily club operations to ensure an exceptional member experience.
- Address employee concerns and performance issues in accordance with company policies and documentation standards.
- Resolve member inquiries and complaints professionally, promptly, and effectively.
- Maintain a welcoming, professional atmosphere that reflects the organization's commitment to service excellence.
- Ensure the facility consistently meets standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security.
- Coordinate timely repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure the availability of necessary equipment parts and operational supplies.
- Support payroll administration, including the accurate processing, submission, and approval of payroll information.
Financial Management
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of budgeting, revenue generation, and payroll management.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
- Manage expenses responsibly and maintain effective purchasing controls.
- Analyze financial results and clearly communicate variances related to revenue, sales performance, payroll, and operating expenses.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of company resources while supporting business growth.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Proven leadership, team management, and employee development experience.
- Strong sales, customer service, and operational management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve financial and performance goals.
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive, and member-centric culture.
