Accounting Manager (Casual, Fun Environment)
POSITION

Would you like to be a part of our team? If so, as our experienced Accounting Manager you will:

Manage the full accounting cycle, including daily operations of the accounting department.

Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts and accounts payable.

Head the financial close process and verify that all reconciliations are accurate.

Prepare and review journal entries.

Prepare and review quarterly financial statements.
-
Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during the annual audit process.
-
Manage monthly sales/use tax returns & annual property tax returns.
-
Maintain lease agreements and properly account for the leases under the new 842 standard.
-
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, tax laws, and other regulations).
-
Effectively utilize IT systems to improve the efficiency of the accounting department.

Maintain and establish positive relationships between company and vendors.
-
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff and support training initiatives.

Assign and evaluate the work of accounting staff.
-
Implement process improvements as needed.

Develop and/or update finance and accounting policies.
-
Other duties as necessary or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or commensurate job experience with a proven track record of success.
EXPERIENCE:
-
GAAP and Internal control framework
-
Managing Accounts Payable in a paperless office environment
-
Microsoft Excel user (Intermediate or Expert)
-
Report building/generation
SKILLS:
-
Must have a strong track record in being able to create new processes and facilitate process improvement.

Demonstrate critical thinking and judgment and be able to work with minimal direction and in somewhat ambiguous situations.
-
Technical knowledge in accounting systems.
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills at various levels of an organization.
-
Ability to achieve progress on multiple tasks while exhibiting high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
