Company Overview
Prairie Wolf Operating (PWO) is an emerging company that is positioned for growth and operates approximately 50 wells, consisting of vertical wells, horizontal wells and saltwater disposal wells.
Through its most recent acquisition it has acquired a Gas Processing Facility and Gathering System.
PWO’s management has more than 25 years of experience in oil and gas management and operations.

Job Description
As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for executing startup, shut down and operating procedures; analyzing and adjusting flow streams; performing maintenance; generating daily production reports; maintaining communication; monitoring, maintaining and operating safety and fire protection systems, purchasing parts and materials, performing site maintenance to ensure a safe working environment, and the hiring and monitoring of third-party services.
Responsibilities / Expectations
- Execute startup, shut down and operating procedures for compressors, furnaces, distillation towers, expanders, electric motors, fans, pumps, instrumentation, valves and alarms.
- Analyze flow streams using a gas chromatograph and make necessary process adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Perform maintenance of compressors, engines, pumps, controls, piping and valves.
- Generate daily production reports including liquid production, downtime, and gas volumes.
- Maintain communication with supervisors and field, plant, maintenance employees, and contractors.
- Purchase parts and materials for projects and maintenance activities
- Monitor services provided by third party vendors to maintain company standards.
- Monitor, maintain, and operate safety and fire protection systems.
- Maintain general knowledge of site/location/equipment/specific permits and compliance.
- Perform good housekeeping duties as required.
- Ensure company-provided vehicle is well maintained and clean.
- Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED certificate
- A minimum of one (1) year related work experience in gas processing plant operations
- Proven ability in the successful operation and maintenance of compressors and gas processing facilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Ability to work in a safe manner adhering to all safety practice.
- Must be able to accurately record meter readings, pressures, and production volumes

- Ability to organize and prioritize daily work
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Instrumentation, Control Technology or Electronics preferred but not required.
- 3 years’ experience in gas plant operations
- SCADA: preferred but not required, this position will require working on site and remotely using
Wonderware software to operate and diagnose operational upsets.
Physical Demand
- Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
- Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs. and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs. as needed
- Work at elevated level, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/ or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, bend, stoop, squat, reach, carry, push, pull, sit, lift, grasp, do repetitive movements, hear, and distinguish between different colors.
Special Job Dimensions
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
- Shift position requiring rotation in weekend, evening, and holiday work
- Be able to work outside and around heavy equipment in variable environmental conditions
- Be able to take callouts
