Supply Planning Analyst Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Supply Planning Analyst specialized in the biopharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing supply chain processes, ensuring seamless production and inventory management, and supporting demand forecasting activities. Supply Planning Analyst Duties
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts and inventory plans using quantitative analysis and supply chain analytics tools.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and sales teams to align supply plans with production schedules and customer demands.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP ERP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms to manage inventory levels, procurement activities, and production planning.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify supply chain bottlenecks or discrepancies and implement effective solutions through process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen.
- Monitor logistics and inventory management metrics to optimize logistics operations and reduce waste while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Lead initiatives in process improvement by applying Lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency across supply chain functions.
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, inventory control, and supply chain performance.
- Engage in direct negotiation with suppliers and vendors to ensure procurement aligns with demand forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing overall supply chain agility, reducing costs, and increasing responsiveness.
Supply Planning Analyst Skills
- Extensive experience with ERP systems such as SAP ERP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms for supply chain management.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools including SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent business intelligence software.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts including demand forecasting analysis, inventory management, procurement, logistics, and production planning.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean management, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
- Expertise in logistics inventory management techniques to optimize inventory demand forecasting and reduce excess stock.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify issues within manufacturing or supply chain processes.
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills combined with a strategic mindset for supply chain optimization.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced biopharma environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a regulated industry setting.
