Cochrane Supply continues to grow as we seek a Warehouse Associate at our branch in Dallas, TX. This is an Entry-Level position with our Purchasing Department with opportunities to grow in/out-side of warehousing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all material arriving at building.
- Unpack and check all boxes received.
- Receiving material in accounting & inventory system (Prophet 21).
- Ship materials via UPS, FedEx, freight, or any shipping method required.
- Stage customer orders and places orders shelves or pallets, or conveys order information to sales staff.
- Contacting suppliers when there is a shipping error to correct.
- Review packing slips.
- Direct where material is to be placed for projects, special shelving, stock, and material pulled for branches.
- Inform department of material received.
- Handle transfer calls from branches.
- Cycle Counts at regular intervals as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
- Keep BIN locations up to date in account & inventory system.
- Filling Holes (walking around shelves looking for empty areas to fill back up).
- Notify order writers of any stock discrepancies & material received.
- Break down boxes for recycling and trash.
- Schedule trash & recycling pickups.
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment & Schedule:
This is a full-time position working 8:30a - 5:00p, requiring onsite attendance Monday - Friday. This person will be in a warehouse environment requiring them to lift and carry items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)
- Experience in HVAC, Temperature Control or Building Automation Systems (preferred).
- Understanding of warehouse operations including shipping and receiving.
- Familiarity with Windows platforms and Microsoft Office 365.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent time and project management skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to quickly learn and retain new concepts.
- Proven ability to be a self-starter with ability to initiate action and follow an effort through to completion.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly, ranging between $18 - $20 per hour. Starting hourly wage is negotiable and based on qualifications experience.
