We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including recording transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while maintaining compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping entries, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Conduct account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation to verify account balances are accurate and complete.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while adhering to relevant regulations.
- Generate financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports necessary for internal review or external reporting requirements.
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against budgets and providing insights for financial planning.
- Maintain organized records of all financial documents, supporting audits and regulatory reviews as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting accurately.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial concepts related to corporate or non-profit accounting environments.
- Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and journal entry preparation.
- Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report writing.
- Ability to interpret financial data clearly and communicate findings effectively.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping systems, debits & credits, account analysis, budget tracking, and financial report writing is essential.
