Job Summary
We are small family-owned restaurant looking for a dependable and hard-working individual to join our team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, preparing ingredients for meal service, and supporting the culinary team with food handling and basic food preparation tasks.
Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, portioning, and assembling ingredients for menu items
- Support the culinary team with meal prep activities to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Handle food items carefully, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen work area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines to uphold health standards
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments is advantageous
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques are a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting with attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting and bending
