HomePoint Security is looking for a dependable and professional Security Camera Installation Technician to install wireless security camera systems for residential and small-business customers.
As an Installation Technician, you will begin your workday at the HomePoint office, where you’ll prepare cameras, tools, and installation supplies for the day’s appointments. You’ll then travel to customer properties to professionally install, configure, and test their security camera systems.
Responsibilities
- Install and securely mount wireless security cameras and solar panels.
- Work with customers to determine appropriate camera placement.
- Connect cameras to customer Wi-Fi networks.
- Configure cameras through the manufacturer’s mobile application.
- Adjust camera angles, motion detection areas, notifications, and other system settings.
- Test each camera and confirm the complete system is functioning properly.
- Walk customers through their new system and explain basic operation.
- Safely use ladders, drills, hand tools, and other installation equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area and clean up after each installation.
- Travel between scheduled customer appointments.
- Keep tools, equipment, and installation supplies organized.
- Return to the HomePoint office after the final appointment to unload equipment, restock supplies, organize the workspace, and complete closing duties.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude while working at customer homes and businesses.
Schedule & Hours
This is a part-time position with variable hours based on scheduled installations.
HomePoint performs installations Wednesday through Sunday, with customer appointments available between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Technicians generally clock in one hour before the day’s first scheduled installation to prepare equipment and supplies. Technicians remain clocked in throughout the workday, including time between appointments, and generally clock out one hour after the final installation is completed after returning to the office and completing closing duties.
Hours will vary depending on the number and timing of scheduled installations. Busy weeks may result in near-full-time hours, while slower weeks may have significantly fewer hours. Weekly hours are not guaranteed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.

- Comfortable driving between customer locations.
- Comfortable working with smartphones, mobile applications, and Wi-Fi networks.
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
- Comfortable safely using ladders.
- Able to work outdoors and perform physical installation work.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow HomePoint installation procedures.
- Previous installation, security camera, low-voltage, construction, maintenance, or handyman experience is helpful but not required.
Training
Previous security camera installation experience is not required. HomePoint will provide training on the camera systems we install, installation procedures, system setup, customer walkthroughs, and company standards.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, comfortable working with their hands and technology, and takes pride in leaving every customer with a clean, properly functioning installation.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
