This Assistant Director for Campus Engagement serves as a leader within the department, directly supervising two full-time Coordinators and overseeing the entirety of the Student Programming Team. This position is responsible for leading large, mid, and small-scale event management, supporting CSE student leader & community development, and supporting assessment initiatives. Also, this position directly oversees or supports the over 100 events hosted annually in the CSE. Finally, this position supports Homecoming initiatives, including all department hosted events, typically around 10.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree
- Experience: 3 yrs of experience within student activities, student organization advising, campus event planning, or related area. 2 yrs of graduate assistantship equates to 1 full-time year of experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrated leadership ability; superior work ethic, budget management, knowledge of and experience with commitment to the values of cultural and ethnic diversity; and evidence of effective positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and off-campus constituencies; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to apply student development theory to practice; Knowledge of assessment and evaluation strategies; Ability to successfully perform event management responsibilities (planning, organizing, delegating, budget management, execution); Demonstrated ability to supervise and/or advise students.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Experience executing large-, mid-, and small-scale, events ranging anywhere from 50 to 5,000+ attendees; Experience with supervision of para-professional and/or student employees; Experience marketing campus events; Experience with graphic design using Canva or other design software systems; Experience using social media content management systems; Experience creating and assessing student leadership development initiatives and events; Experience working with talent agencies, managers, and artists; Experience executing large and small concert events.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams; ability to work on multi-generational teams; ability to create and distribute marketing materials that appeal to the current student body; Demonstrated ability to supervise graduate assistants and/or full-time professionals.

Compensation and Benefits
- UT market range: MR10
- Anticipated hiring range: Minimum starting salary $57,000. Final salary is commensurate with education and experience.
