American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of recent ED experience and a broad range of emergency and trauma competencies.

Hospital Emergency Department setting with a combined adult and pediatric patient population
-
Handles a wide range of cases including trauma, neuro, orthopedic, behavioral health, cardiac, respiratory, and toxicological emergencies
-
Proficiency with specialized procedures including chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, 12-lead EKG acquisition, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration

Triage responsibilities included

Floating may be required to another ER campus as needed

Charting in Epic is required

Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–06:30
-
Every other weekend requirement
-
No on-call requirement

Block scheduling is not available for this position

Active RN license in Kansas (or compact) AND Missouri — both must be in hand at time of consideration, as floating between facilities may be required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS, and TNCC
-
Minimum 2 years of recent ED specialty experience required
-
Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months, with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year

Emergency Department and trauma experience required
-
Competency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, CVA, neuro-trauma, TBI, spinal cord injury, ortho-trauma, and behavioral/psychiatric emergencies

2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor level or above; the second may be a charge RN — all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year

Pending licensure is accepted

Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position

RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
