Experienced Reefer Dispatcher – On-Site (Melrose Park, IL Terminal)
Location: 1301 Armitage Ave, Melrose Park, Illinois
Job Type: Full-Time.
Work hours:
Monday - Friday
7:00AM-4:00PM
or
8:00AM-5:00PM
Saturday rotation 8:00AM-Noon once every month.
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Reefer Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience coordinating refrigerated loads, managing driver schedules, and maintaining compliance with temperature-sensitive shipment requirements. Position is onsite at Melrose park, IL terminal.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch reefer loads efficiently and on time
- Monitor and manage driver routes, hours, and equipment utilization
- Communicate proactively with drivers, customers, and brokers
- Track load temperatures and ensure compliance with cold chain standards
- Handle unexpected issues such as breakdowns, delays, or temperature excursions
- Maintain accurate load documentation and reports in dispatch software
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of reefer dispatch experience (preferred in OTR or regional operations)
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and ELD systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with dispatch software (e.g., McLeod, TMW, or similar)
- Must be reliable, organized, and team-oriented
