Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) is a growing Colorado manufacturer who specializes in manufacturing and installation of custom electrical/mechanical machinery in the packaging industry. Our team takes pride in craftmanship and attention to detail. We are seeking an experienced TIG Fabricator/Welder who specializes in producing clean, consistent welds. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, take pride in their work, and be comfortable working with stainless steel.
Qualified candidates will need to have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Hours vary based on volume, but overtime will be required in addition to occasional Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blue prints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Follow basic build of material (BOM’s) to make accurate weldments
- Set up the welder for the appropriate bead and heat requirements for each job
- Operate the welder while also keeping an eye out for any defects or issues
- Fabricate and fit components to meet quality and design standards
- Use a tape measure or other measuring device to ensure accuracy and perform quality assurance check
- Maintain inventory of product in workstation
- Submit paperwork in an expedient manner when pieces are completed
- Work closely with others in the department to meet requirements for on time completion
- Communicate with appropriate personnel to advise of any issues or problems encountered
- Understand and follow proper OSHA safety requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean and productive environment
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a TIG welder/fabricator working with metal in a fabrication environment
- Strong ability to produce high-quality, visually appealing welds
- Skilled in working with stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel
- Reliable and punctual on a consistent basis
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Flexibility, including the ability to adapt to changes in priority
- Self-directed individual who works well within a team environment
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Experience working with metal in a fabrication environment
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Basic math skills
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Safety glasses must be worn at all times
- Steel or composite shoes must be worn
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds
- Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Must have ability to sit, walk and stand for a period of time up to 10 hours per day
- Must have ability to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, climb or balance occasionally throughout the day
This will be a full-time, 1st shift, direct hire position. Pay will be determined on experience. A full benefits package including health, dental, life, vision, flexible spending plan, and a 401(k) with a company match will be offered.
