the principles, practices and procedures used in maintaining and repairing storm drainage
infrastructure.
- Safety - Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with storm
drainage system and facilities, underground utilities.
- Supervision - Knowledge of leadership techniques, principles and procedures to assign work,
schedule, supervise, train, and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
- Customer Service – Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer
services. This includes setting and meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of
customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a high school diploma and 3-5 years of experience in storm sewer and drainage work or a
related field and 1-2 years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of
education and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires satisfactory results from a pre-employment medical evaluation; pre-employment substance
abuse testing and is subject to random alcohol and controlled substance testing.
Must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit prior to employment and complete the
practical portion of the CDL test within 60 days of employment.
