Pay: Up to $36.97/hour (Based on qualifications)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic II to join a leading food manufacturing facility in Clackamas, Oregon. This is a contract position with a strong possibility of extension and full-time conversion. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment in a manufacturing environment while ensuring maximum equipment uptime and compliance with food safety standards.
Upon full-time conversion, candidates will be required to join the onsite union.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose equipment failures using blueprints, repair manuals, and technical documentation.
- Repair, rebuild, fabricate, and reassemble production equipment.
- Perform welding on mild steel and stainless steel.
- Maintain conveyors, compressors, chillers, PLC-controlled equipment, robots, and related machinery.
- Complete maintenance work orders, logs, and documentation accurately.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Investigate recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Order spare parts and coordinate with vendors or contractors when necessary.
- Maintain an organized spare parts inventory.
- Continuously inspect production equipment for safe and efficient operation.
- Train production personnel on proper equipment operation.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), GMP, food safety, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform additional maintenance duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Experience performing preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and repair manuals.
- Experience with welding (mild steel and stainless steel).
- Experience with conveyors, compressors, chillers, PLCs, or automated production equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime and at least one weekend day as required.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States on a permanent basis without future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Experience with GMP and Food Safety standards.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated equipment.
- Knowledge of robotics and industrial controls.
- Fabrication experience.
Work Schedule
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- 5 days per week
- 8-hour shifts
- Must be available for overtime
- Must be willing to work at least one weekend day
