The purpose of the HVAC Technician position at Lajitas Golf Resort is to ensure the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our guests and staff by maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems throughout the property. This role supports the overall operation of the resort by ensuring that all climate control and related mechanical systems function efficiently and reliably, contributing to the exceptional guest experience Lajitas is known for.
Duties:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration units to ensure efficient operation.
- Perform routine inspections and change air filters on a regular schedule to maintain air quality and system efficiency.
- Assess and repair drainage and condensate line issues as needed.
- Assist with identifying, sourcing, and ordering necessary parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Pick up, deliver, and track parts and materials required for department operations.
- Support inventory control and confirm delivery of HVAC-related parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and communicate effectively with the maintenance team and supervisors.
- Take on increasing administrative responsibilities and technical tasks as experience and skills develop.

- Possesses basic knowledge of HVAC systems and procedures, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with commercial mechanical and electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret blueprints is helpful.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently for extended periods and effectively prioritize tasks without direct supervision.
- Skilled in the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials necessary to complete HVAC-related maintenance and repair tasks.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, even when dealing with complex or time-sensitive situations.
- Willing and available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed to meet operational demands and deadlines.
- Adheres strictly to all safety policies and procedures related to equipment handling, personal protective equipment (PPE), and workplace practices.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to five years of related work experience is required. Experience in the hospitality or property development industry is preferred but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess a valid Driver License.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing basic reports and routine correspondence. Able to speak clearly and professionally when addressing groups of customers, guests, or team members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Able to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs as needed for HVAC operations or reporting.
Reasoning Ability:
Applies common sense understanding to carry out written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions. Capable of resolving problems involving limited variables in routine or standardized situations.
