Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide guests with a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and facilities maintenance will help uphold the highest standards of property integrity and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building interior systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, hand tools, and other diagnostic devices.
- Conduct HVAC system repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal climate control throughout the property.
- Execute plumbing repairs and system maintenance, including pipe fittings, leak detection, and fixture servicing.
- Carry out carpentry tasks such as maintenance painting, door repairs, cabinetry work, and building interior modifications.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for building automation systems to optimize facility operations.
- Utilize welding skills for metal repairs or fabrications as needed within the property.
- Maintain facilities equipment by following manufacturer instructions and safety protocols; document all work performed accurately.
- Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors during major repairs or renovations to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed schematics and documentation for all systems to facilitate future troubleshooting and compliance audits.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest requests related to facilities issues promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building operations within a hospitality or commercial environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical work, plumbing system maintenance, HVAC repair, and carpentry.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment repair, plumbing fixtures, HVAC systems including troubleshooting and routine servicing.
- Experience working with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; welding certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of maintenance painting techniques and residential painting is advantageous.
- Leadership skills to oversee maintenance projects or mentor junior team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and assist guests when necessary.
