Pay: $13.00-14.00 per hour, based on experience, availability, and demonstrated dependability
Schedule:
- Weekday (Wednesday Morning) and Weekend hours (Saturdays and Sundays)
- Rotating weekend availability required
- Morning shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8 hours)

Job Description
We’re hiring a Barn/Farm Hand to join our team at a private boarding barn in South Lyon, MI. Our facility prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and a positive environment for both animals and staff. If you love working with horses and livestock, being outdoors, and are dependable and hardworking, we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities Include:
Horse Care:
- Feeding hay, grain, and supplements
- Turnout/bringing in horses
- Cleaning stalls, mucking pastures
- Filling and cleaning water buckets and hay bags
- Changing horse blankets and fly masks
- Grooming, bathing, holding for vet/farrier
- Dragging the arena and keeping barn areas clean and organized
Livestock Care (Cattle, Pigs & Fowl):
- Feeding and watering
- Monitoring animal health and performing head counts
- Cleaning pens, pastures, and shelters
- Assisting with vet calls and supply management
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years old
- Reliable, responsible, and looking for a long-term role
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working with large animals and outdoors in all seasons
- Able to follow detailed care instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
- Must pass pre-employment background check
