Job Summary
Cambay Healthcare is seeking an experienced Pathologists’ Assistant / Pathology Technician for a 17-week contract assignment in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have strong surgical pathology and specimen grossing experience and be comfortable working in a high-complexity laboratory environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Pathologists’ Assistant looking for a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no weekends or call.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens for examination, holding, transport, and shipment.
- Assist with the preparation of freshly removed surgical specimens for cytologic studies.
- Perform specimen grossing and delegated high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting, and maintaining patient test records.
- Maintain accurate, clear, and legible documentation.
- Follow laboratory quality control policies and document all quality control activities.
- Perform and document instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance as required.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with pathologists and laboratory team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of surgical pathology experience.
- Must be a Certified Pathologists’ Assistant (PA).
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant training program required.
- PA (ASCP)CM certification required.
- Strong surgical specimen grossing and dissection experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a high-complexity laboratory environment.
