Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for meal service.
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely delivery of dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, prep areas, and storage spaces in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Handle food items safely during preparation and service, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
- Assist with catering setups and serving when needed to ensure smooth event operations.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to kitchen equipment use, knife handling, and sanitation practices.
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking methods.
- Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen environments, including food industry standards.
- Excellent knife skills for efficient ingredient prep and portioning.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure during busy service periods.
