Job Summary:
Client is looking for a Chemical Engineer to support chemical process safety and manufacturing operations at its Solar Wafers plant in Hemlock, MI. The engineer will help ensure chemical systems are designed and operated safely, support commissioning activities, and work closely with plant teams to solve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead HAZOP and PHA safety reviews.
- Ensure chemical processes and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
- Work with plant teams, vendors, and engineers to solve process issues.
- Support equipment startup, commissioning, and process improvements.
- Review and update procedures, P&IDs, and technical documents.
- Analyze process data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical updates and project progress reports.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of chemical manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Knowledge of chemical process safety, HAZOP, and PHA.
- Experience with process troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OSHA PSM and EHS requirements.
- Familiarity with chemical simulation tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD, COMSOL, or MATLAB.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, Origin, or Excel.
- Startup, commissioning, or chemical delivery system experience.
Pay: $34.00 - $41.00 per hour
