The Wirt County Board of Education announces the following vacancy for the 2026-27 school year:
Special Education Site Coordinator (Wirt County Middle School)
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
WV professional teaching certification in Multi-Categorical Special Education (MI, SLD, BD, Autism) required, and Multi Subjects K-6 or Mathematics or English, grades 5-8 preferred.

Ability to communicate and work effectively with school administrators, school personnel, and parents.

Demonstrates organizational and management skills for the classroom.

Demonstrates working knowledge of IEP development.

Successful experience in providing instruction in inclusive and self-contained settings.

Demonstrates the ability to work within the county/school Mission and Core Beliefs.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate with building level Special Education Teachers and Related Service Providers to schedule Eligibility and/or IEP Meetings.

Generate and process meeting notices ensuring all required participants have been included.

Maintain an online calendar of meetings that are mindful of school activities.

Participate in SAT and IEP meetings as needed.

Ensure Procedural Safeguards are distributed as required.

Oversee the maintenance of school-wide special education files
-
Support staff with compliance to policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Submit data, reports, and/or documentation relevant to this position upon request.

Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Special Education Director.

SALARY: $2,400.00
