POSITION SUMMARY
A Channel Bender Operator sets up and operates machinery that bends metal channels, pipes, tubing,
or structural components to required shapes and angles used in manufacturing, construction, automotive,
or fabrication industries
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate channel bending and forming machines safely and efficiently
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
Set up machine parameters based on material type and specifications
Measure and inspect finished parts using gauges, calipers, and measuring tools
Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and quality
Load and unload raw materials and finished products
Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
Identify defects or production issues and report them to supervisors
Follow workplace safety standards and company procedures
Maintain production records and documentation
REQUIREMENTS SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS· Experience in fabrication or manufacturing
- Ability to read tape measures and technical drawings/blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in using fabrication tools, machinery, and equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds (lbs) and stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, manual dexterity, and reach overhead
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights greater than six feet as needed
- Ability to tolerate repetitive motions
- Good teamwork and communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in sign fabrication, channel letter assembly, or trim cap application
- Experience operating bending, rolling, or fabrication machinery
- Knowledge of illuminated signage and LED systems
- Previous forklift or crane experience
- Welding, machine operating, or electrical experience
- OSHA 10 certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT· Work performed in a manufacturing and fabrication facility
- Environment may be dusty, noisy, and non-temperature controlled
- Exposed to hazards from moving machinery components
- Exposed to moving machinery with pinch point precautions
- Exposure to adhesives, chemicals, and fabrication equipment
- PPE required- safety glasses and safety shoes
- Other required PPE as needed- gloves for material handling, hardhat for crane operations, or
goggles/face shield for chemical transfers
