Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Drive a variety of truck types including flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks based on delivery requirements
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, mechanical condition, and compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing schedules and addressing any route changes or delays proactively
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, inspection reports, and other required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, issues encountered on the road, or safety concerns
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial driving environments
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling various vehicle types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Prior experience in freight delivery with knowledge of load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met
- Strong route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules or road conditions
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and customers
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment as needed; capable of lifting heavy items safely
Preferred qualifications include experience with refrigerated trailer operations, tanker driving, flatbed hauling, forklift certification, and familiarity with various trucking equipment.
