American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active IL RN license and proficiency with cardiac drips and specialized procedures.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry setting within a multi-campus health system, including facilities ranging from Level 1 to Level 4 trauma centers

Cardiac patient population including post-open heart surgery cases
-
Procedures include chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
-
Vasoactive and cardiac drip management required, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban with some titration

EMR: Epic

Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; IA RN license also required (if not active, proof of application for an Iowa single-state or compact RN license must be provided during compliance)

Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required and must be active — pending certifications not accepted

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Cardiac and open heart experience preferred

At least 1 completed travel contract preferred

Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within 2 years of employment or contract required

Driver's license required

Skills checklist completed within 1 year of consideration required

Candidates must have a taxable address more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard travel rates; local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a reduced rate

Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drip therapy for telemetry PCU patients

Candidates must not have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the past 12 months

Required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day

Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving
-
RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving holiday week (11/26–11/30) and the Christmas/New Year's holiday period (12/23–1/2), regardless of which holidays are worked
