RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER
A growing independent hospitality group is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a high-volume, upscale restaurant in Rosemont.
This position offers meaningful long-term growth potential for a proven operator as our hospitality group continues to expand.
This is a confidential search for an operationally strong, hands-on leader who can elevate service, develop the management team, establish accountability, and take full ownership of the restaurant’s financial and operational performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a polished, chef-driven restaurant with substantial food and beverage volume. Experience overseeing private dining or special-event execution is also valuable, although this position is primarily focused on leading restaurant operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Lead all day-to-day front-of-house restaurant operations
- Develop, coach, and hold the management team accountable
- Maintain consistently high standards for hospitality, service, cleanliness, and professionalism
- Build a disciplined management structure with effective preshifts, manager checklists, training, and follow-through
- Recruit, train, develop, and retain a strong front-of-house team
- Create schedules that support service while maintaining responsible labor costs
- Monitor sales, labor, purchasing, comps, discounts, and other controllable expenses
- Review financial and operating results and take action to improve performance
- Work closely with the executive chef and culinary management team
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor during peak service periods
- Respond professionally to guest concerns and protect the restaurant’s reputation
- Coordinate with the events team to ensure private events are properly staffed and executed
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, liquor, and employment requirements
- Communicate clearly and consistently with ownership
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- At least three years of General Manager experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant
- Demonstrated responsibility for restaurant financial performance and P&L results
- Strong understanding of labor management, scheduling, cost controls, budgeting, and purchasing
- Proven ability to develop managers and create an accountable workplace culture
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong floor presence and a genuine commitment to hospitality
- Experience with chef-driven restaurants, steakhouses, seafood concepts, hotels, private dining, or event-heavy operations is preferred
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the restaurant
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Annual salary of $90,000–$110,000, based on experience
