This position is for a RF and Networking Field Technician. Technician will install, program, configure, optimize, test, and maintain radio communications and electronics equipment. Experience with Motorola P25 and Motorola Mototrbo two-way radio equipment preferred, but will consider hiring someone with other relevant experience. Successful candidates for this position typically possess one or more of the following: Motorola P25 and Mototrbo Radio Product Training Certificates, FCC License, ETA certification, and/or Ground Radio experience in one of the branches of the military.
Essential Functions
Position is ACTIVE with lifting, pushing/pulling, or carrying 50 - 75% of the time of 50 – 75lbs. This position requires walking, traversing, and movement inside the facility or outside of the facility. The ability to crouch, crawl, stoop, or kneel during installing of equipment 50 – 75%. Employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate/finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Ascending/descending stairs, ladders, or other height elevating equipment to performed 50 – 75% of the time. May be required to work within confined spaces 0 – 25% of the time. The person in this position frequently communicates with employees, customers, and other persons. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The ability to observe, assess, recognize, and identify products, wires, reports, orders to perform the function of this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position is primary preformed in NONCLIMATE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and comply with all general shop procedures, duties, and follow industry standards.
- Assist all levels of technicians and installers with installations of complex installs and troubleshooting procedures.
- Install and service all types of fixed equipment, antenna systems, and controllers in the field as well as in the shop when called upon due to manpower requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair all varieties of electronic equipment in the field and in the shop with minimal supervision.
- Assist customers on the telephone to diagnose problems determining whether or not a service call is warranted.
- Repair circuits, wiring, and soldering, using soldering irons and hand tools to install parts and adjust connections.
- Test radio equipment functions such as signal strength and quality, transmission capacity, interference, and signal delay, using equipment such as oscilloscopes, circuit analyzers, frequency meters, and watt meters.
- Install, adjust, and repair stationary and mobile radio transmitting and receiving equipment and two-way radio communication systems.
- Examine malfunctioning radio equipment to locate defects such as loose connections, broken wires, or burned-out components, using schematic diagrams and test equipment.
- Remove and replace defective components and parts such as conductors, resistors, semiconductors, and integrated circuits, using soldering irons, wire cutters, and hand tools.
- Calibrate and align components, using test equipment and software.
- Insert plugs into receptacles and bolt or screw leads to terminals to connect equipment to power sources, using hand tools.
- Test batteries, using load testers and ammeters, and charge batteries, as necessary.

Pay Overview
Pay is based on experience and overall qualifications. Pay is $20 – $30 an hour
