Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, ensuring that clients receive the highest quality of care in a respectful and nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and comfort
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Support clients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to ensure safety during movement
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that encourages social interaction and mental stimulation
- Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, patient observations, medication schedules, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organization to maintain a safe and clean living space
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and administer medications safely
- Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred
- Knowledge of care plans development and implementation for residents with complex needs including memory care and hospice care
- Familiarity with manual handling techniques, patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts, and emergency response procedures such as CPR and first aid certification
- Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with clients, families, healthcare teams, and community resources
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques for patient transfers or mobility assistance
